The Kudla Racing team is the family effort of Kriss, Melissa, Erek and Ryan Kudla to advance through the ranks of the best racers in the Southern California, National, and International Desert Racing Series'.

HEAD OF THE TEAM

The back bone of the Kudla Racing team is Head Mechaninc, Pit Chief, Driver and head of the house hold Kriss Kudla.

Kriss started racing the the woods of Michigan in the early 70s and quickly worked his way up to National A rider. He tied for first in his Northern California National Enduro Debut against Kevin Heines only loosing by a handful of seconds.

With 20+ years of mechanic experience under his belt ke keeps the bikes and pits running better then anyone else's in the desert.

THE RACERS

The two main racing elements of the Kudla Racing team are Erek and Ryan Kudla. With 8 championships and over 300 races between them, the pair have started to team up at Night Team races and Baja to propell the team to the top of the podium.

INVOLVED IN THE SPORT

The Kudla family has been a part of the Ventura County Motorcycle club for almost 15 years and each have played their part.

Recently...

Kriss was president of the club for 4 years and vice president for another 2 years. The VCMC qualifier owes the last 8 years or so to Kriss because without his tireless work on the event it would not still be happeneing today. He is currently working as the "Event Coordinator" of the club procuring its Permits, Ambulances, and aditional Paper work.

Melissa Kudla was secretary for the club for many years and was also typing and printing the VCMC newsletter until they went to a digital format. She has been in charge of sign-up and the following 2 weeks of enduro results for the last few years and has no plans of quiting anytime soon.

Erek Kudla is currently the Race Referee for the club. He also is the clubs "graphic designer" for all fliers, t-shirts, pins and trophies as of 2007 and has been loop captain for the Night Team Race since 2008.

Ryan Kudla has been the club representative at the Offroad Committee and Competition Committee for the last 3 years while attending college full time in Pamona. After coming back from the National Hare and Hound in Utah he is also the designated sweep rider for the qualifier and does his part tearing down the course.

THE CLUB

The 25th annual Hungry Valley Quali-fire - named for the year it got canceled due to a forest fire, this Qualifier format enduro is one of the most highly attended enduros of the year. With its unique terrain and easy format it is a favorite of riders from WORCS, BAJA, Norther Districts and those that are much more comfortable in the wide open deserts. The Hungry Valley SVRA provides some of the greatest scenery and best racing through the hills and trees. Then the race typically heads into the Angeles National forest for a 15 mile trek along a single track trail glued to the mountain sides.

Past Overall Winners - Brad Goolsby, Kendall Norman, Chris Blais, Matt Henderson, Paul Krause

The 3rd Annual Midnight Cattle Drive - The toughest of the District 37 Night Races, the Cattle Drive will be staging out of "Racer's Camp" on Bessimer Mine Rd. After the Soggy Dry Lake, before the Rock Pile. The club has always been known for doing something different. In 2008 they timed every row to give a true overall finish. In 2009 they had a mass start with over 80 teams on a 30 mile coarse split into 2 15 mile loops. This year is no exception. For 2010 VCMC will be holding a true scramble. The Race will be 5 hours plus 1 lap for everyone. The course will still be challenging but hopefully some of the other clubs can take it out of "toughest top ranking"...

Past Overall Winners - Justin Imhof, Brent Harden

The Bishop Dual Sport Ride - Another favorite of the offroad community, the Bishop Dual sport ride is very unique. It has 7 different loops all staging out of the Bishop fair grounds ranging in difficulty from easy "GS" big bike roads and two tracks to more difficult single track that some big bikes may dare to venture on to expert only trails where only the most experienced and/or brave riders may want to ride. In 2010 the ride will be bigger and better with improved routes and always something special for the riders.

NO OVERALL WINNERS! ITS JUST A FUN WEEKEND OF RIDING!

The Ventura County Motorcycle Club is also a big part of the racing comminuty. They are Stewards of the Forest for Angeles National Forest keeping Tejon Trail and Gold Hill Trail in top shape. They donate most of the Dual Sport proceeds to charities. And they support local shops such as Cal Coast Motorsports and Cycle Gear.
