KTM AND HUSKY RULE THE 100's MC CLASSIC SCRAMBLES
Round 2 of the BAJADESIGNS Summer Night Race Series
By Erek Kudla Photos - by Americanmetrics.com and David Burson
Memorial Day weekend marked an epic day of racing in the California Desert in 2010. The 100s Motorcycle Club offered 3 chances to race on a 13 mile hare scrambles course in the Spangler Hills OHV Area with a morning Classic Scrambles, Afternoon Quad Championship and evening Night Team Scrambles.
At 10 am the first row consisting of all Heavy Weight and 250 Experts was off with the T.O. Powersports, Dirt Digits backed KX450f of Erek Kudla taking the early lead being most comfortable with the Live Engine Start. Just after the 1st corner Blais Racing's Nick Blais made the pass for the lead with the PK Racing's KTM 250 of Justin ImHof glued to his tail. Imhof was able to make the pass shortly after and put more then a minute on Blais in the first 13 miles.
The specticle of the weekend was the Endurocross section that was set up for every race consisting of Rocks, logs, tires and a big set of vertical tires that very few even tried and less conquered. One rider that would not be defeated by the 4 foot high tires was the Vet 250 of Joe Bianchi. Time and time again he was thrown on the ground but by the end of the day he had the tires down to a science! Erek Kudla, who was running in 5th overall after the 1st lap would not have it so easy. Going for the tires he got knocked off and dropped the bike, bending the handguard down and pulling his Flexx bars down as well. Stopping in the pits to pry them up would drop him back to 10th overall but with plenty of time to make up positions.

RYAN KUDLA TAKES USDR ROUND 4 OVERALL VICTORY! - RACE REPORT
By Ryan Kudla photo by American Metrics

Got out there before my dad and brother for once this time on Saturday afternoon and actually had some time to unload slowly and get changed for the practice lap and be up on the front row. I started in the 2nd wave of riders and went to the front of this row after the first little rise. The start seemed like it was a little better than the last time I rode it and the rolling hills after the start were very fun. When the practice lap was all said and done I knew it was going to be a fast race the next day and I got to work on my bike to get it set up for the following day. Again, I got everything done early and was in the trailer and out of the wind at around 4:00 PM and man was it blowing hard! Props to all the little kids who were braving the wind for the kids race! I did some homework, watched a movie, and slid into bed around 10:00 that night.

With the help of Moto-Tally and the hard work of Melissa Kudla the Ventura County Motorcycle club was able to put out their preliminary Results in record time posting them online the Tuesday after the race. "With 344 riders and 3 people inputing the entries on Saturday and Sunday the Results were a sinch to get out this year" said Melissa of the new Moto-Tally system. "Any time I had a problem I called them up and they had it fixed in just minutes and I was able to keep Going."

Round 7 of the AMA/KENDA National Hare and Hound Series
Ryan Kudla's Race Report
By Ryan Kudla - Photo By Brad Bentley

We left early Friday morning to and got out there at about 4:30 Friday afternoon. Headed over to sign up and got some posters for my girlfriend’s little brother. The tent was a little cramped and hot, but it was cool to have all that extra stuff in there and to see the bike that won the Cherry Creek race in 1960! We headed over to the start to walk it a little bit and see if there were a lot of things hidden in the tall grass or not, and then headed to Nephi to stay in room 9 at the National 9 hotel, and ironically my number is 9. With all these number 9’s floating around I was hoping for at least a 9th place finish which would be my first Top 10 of the year.
We got out to the race site at about 8 Saturday morning, put some gas on the gas truck to be taken out to the alternate gas on loop 3, ate some food, and got suited up to head over to the start. The race was supposed to start at 10:30 but they had some trouble getting the kids cleared off their course so the riders meeting was around 11:00 and shortly after the banner was up. When the banner came down and kicked as hard as I could and thought the bike started, but when I tried to go nothing happened. So I had to reach down pull the kick starter back out and kick again. I thought it started this second time but it didn’t again! So I had to reach down a 2nd time and after 3 more kicks I was off and going.

17 year old T.O. powersports / Flexx Team Mate Colton Sanders in Recovery after epic crash.

After finishing 2nd overall to Kendall Norman on saturday May 8th 2010 at the Badgers Euro Scramble young Colton Sanders was eager for the win come sunday. The T.O. Powersports / Fasst Co / Maxima / Dunlop Ktm of Sanders was hot on the JCR/Red Bull Honda of Norman "He came through check 1 on the thrid lap a good 30-40 seconds behind Norman.." Said a spectator. "...and to get that close to him at the end is absolutly amazing"
Sanders was able to reel Norman in just before the finish shoot and was going for the pass... and then the worst thing possible happened. About 100 yards from the white flag heading out for the last lap Sanders cliped a rock at full speed in Normans dust.
" I was standing at the finish and saw the bike cart wheel and do two or three flips before it landed." said Shane Sands who was watching at the finish.
"It was one of the most horrible things I have seen in my life... " said Donna Ogden.
