JUSTIN IMHOF WINS THE MIDNIGHT CATTLE DRIVE
SOLO FOR THE 2ND TIME IN A ROW
ROUND 4 OF THE BAJA DESIGNS NIGHT RACE SERIES
By Erek Kudla Photos by Bonnie Boone
17 Year old Justin Imhof has proven this summer that he is the toughest rider to race District 37 Ironmanning every round of the 2010 Baja Designs Night Race Series and taking two overall wins and two 2nd overall finishes against some of the fastest TEAMS in the desert. The 3rd annual Ventura County MC Midnight Cattle Drive would mark his 3rd overall victory of the season and one of the harder fought wins of his career.
At the start line 50+ teams lined up in the dark underneath the high powered lights ready to do battle with what was known as the hardest night race of the summer. VCMC has always made their finishes ones that had to be earned and this year was no different. "The course reminded me of a national in some areas!" exclaimed first time night racer Greg Iesberts and "The waterfalls were a great head check while hauling the mail through the washes" said Driftwood Taylor from MRAN while Dennis Greene said "I tell people that Baja is not a District 37 race and last night I was reminded that a District 37 race is not Baja."

JCR HONDA'S NORMAN/CODY TAKE THE OVERALL!!!
Round 3 of the BajaDesigns Night Race Series
P-DOGS 4TH ANNUAL NIGHT TEAM SCRAMBLE
By Erek Kudla - Photos by Matt McGowen

The 4th Annual Prairie Dogs Night Team Scramble marked the first of 2 rounds to be held in the Johnson Valley OHV Area and they had laid out a doozy. 5 hours of night racing through some of the most technical terrain the Baja Designs Night Race Series had seen all summer made for some great competition. On the line would be all the players from the previous rounds; Imhof, Kudla, Vandenberg, Baskin, Roberts and Crawford but there were some new players this time. The JCR Honda crew had shown up to show everyone what going fast at night was all about. With 2 allstar teams the red bikes looked to be poised for an easy 1-2 podium much like the Baja 500 just weeks prior.
As the sun set over the Horizon the green flag waived and the Open/250/200 row was off and it was Red Bull/JCR backed Kendall Norman taking the early lead with ironman Justin ImHof screaming along on his PK Racing KTM 250 just behind and following just seconds behind was the Cyclops Motorsports backed Ryan Kudla. Ryan had missed the previous round while in Baja with a victory in class 21 and had teamed up with his brother Erek Kudla to try and get on the Night Race podium for the second time this summer.

JCR/Honda racers Kendall Norman and Colton Udall led their teams to 1st and 2nd respectively at the 42nd annual running of the Tecate SCORE Baja 500. The race course was brutal and the Honda CRF450X's Pro Circuit suspension & Dunlop tires were key to keeping the riders upright and in the lead. Kendall crossed the finish line first and Colton followed a few minutes later. The team rode a spectacular race to deliver the one two punch of 1st and 2nd place.
"I couldn’t be happier right now. My team came out on top and the JCR/Honda pit crews proved once again they are the best in Baja." -- Johnny Campbell
This is Honda’s 15th overall motorcycle victory in the Tecate SCORE Baja 500 and Kendall Norman’s 4th win in the past 5 years. Kendall and teammate Quinn Cody completed the 438 mile course with a dominating time of 8:47:00 at an average speed of 49.96 mph on a Honda CRF450X, securing the title of the fastest vehicle period in the harsh conditions of the Baja.

KTM AND HUSKY RULE THE 100's MC CLASSIC SCRAMBLES
Round 2 of the BAJADESIGNS Summer Night Race Series
By Erek Kudla Photos - by Americanmetrics.com and David Burson
Memorial Day weekend marked an epic day of racing in the California Desert in 2010. The 100s Motorcycle Club offered 3 chances to race on a 13 mile hare scrambles course in the Spangler Hills OHV Area with a morning Classic Scrambles, Afternoon Quad Championship and evening Night Team Scrambles.
At 10 am the first row consisting of all Heavy Weight and 250 Experts was off with the T.O. Powersports, Dirt Digits backed KX450f of Erek Kudla taking the early lead being most comfortable with the Live Engine Start. Just after the 1st corner Blais Racing's Nick Blais made the pass for the lead with the PK Racing's KTM 250 of Justin ImHof glued to his tail. Imhof was able to make the pass shortly after and put more then a minute on Blais in the first 13 miles.
The specticle of the weekend was the Endurocross section that was set up for every race consisting of Rocks, logs, tires and a big set of vertical tires that very few even tried and less conquered. One rider that would not be defeated by the 4 foot high tires was the Vet 250 of Joe Bianchi. Time and time again he was thrown on the ground but by the end of the day he had the tires down to a science! Erek Kudla, who was running in 5th overall after the 1st lap would not have it so easy. Going for the tires he got knocked off and dropped the bike, bending the handguard down and pulling his Flexx bars down as well. Stopping in the pits to pry them up would drop him back to 10th overall but with plenty of time to make up positions.
